“Wings” is the theme of the November art exhibit, being sponsored by Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation and Sanibel Captiva Art League, and showing at the SCCF Bailey Homestead Preserve, 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. This exhibit features fresh works of art and was open to all members of the Sanibel Captiva Art League & SCCF.

“This is our first exhibit together with SCCF and the first art exhibit in the Bailey house,” said Anita Force Marshall, SCAL Vice President, “It’s a great collaboration with SCCF, whose foundation truly makes Sanibel a unique and special island filled with natural beauty.”

The exhibit can be viewed from now through Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday.
All artwork is for sale with a portion of each sale being donated to SCCF.

“This exhibit is mutually beneficial for both organizations and we showcase aspects of both organizations,” said Jenny Evans, Native Landscapes & Garden Center Manager. “Participants (and hopefully visitors) are able to focus on a topic related to SCCF, while SCAL can highlight their artistic talents plus, I think it’s a good way to spread awareness about both SCCF and SCAL, so both organizations can reach new people outside of their traditional audiences. “ Be sure and stop by to view this special exhibit in a very iconic island landmark.

“I think you will be surprised at the different ways that the artists have interpreted the theme of Wings,” said Evans, “The quality of the art is terrific, and it’s wonderful that so many artists were excited about the exhibit, the collaboration with SCCF and SCAL, and decided to enter a work of art.”
